A little story about TREQ

A little story about Treq.

Treq was developed at UW College of Education. 2 years ago, I was asked to deploy their application to another College.

It sounded simple enough since the app was already coded and only needed to be kind of copy/pasted into another College's server.

Easy said, not easy done.

Once we (with Paul, Nicky, Josh, Jan) un-customized some specific developments, we managed to deploy the app successfully.

And we were happy enough and deployed the app to 2 other Colleges, then came the UW Financial Transformation UWFT six months later.

All data connectors had to be redefined. We've had massive delays and technical breakdowns for many months.

But now the app has finally been stabilized and universalized.

Meaning it is Organization agnostic and has the perfect balance between keeping the code base the same and allowing for customization of texts, parts of formulars and logos displayed in the Application.

Both this conversion post-UWFT and universalization of the app have made it possible now to centralize its code and the way the app is hosted.
